AV Referendum loss

I've always supported PR (Proportional Representation). I can't say AV (Alternative Vote) would have been my first choice, its a little better than First Past the Post (but not much).
It would seem more of a vote against the Lib Dems than fair votes. It did not help that the No campaign spread a lot of misonformation and the Yes campaign was pretty non existent , except to whine about the No campaign. An oppurtunity missed.

Osama and keeping up to date

I suppose if I'm going to take this blog thing seriously then I suppose I better try and keep up to date.
Osama Bin Laden, now deceased. Despite what he stood for, in terms of violence and religious intolerance, I cannot contemplate celebrating the death of any person. Perhaps if I was related to one of his victims then I would allow myself some small sign of satisfaction, a flicker of revenge. But people (in general) in a celebratory mood, then I may just feel its a bit over the top.

Royal Wedding

OK its the Monday after the Friday Royal Wedding, despite vowing not to watch it, I did sneak a small peak, and it was endlessly on the news anyway, even over the weekend, pictures, honeymoon speculation. There was no escape.
I'm not a Royalist, I wish the couple well, but I've never believed in the Monarchy. An anachronism in the 21st Century ? Then, would a President be any better as head of state instead of the Queen ? I wonder. Maybe I'm softening on them.
It was great to get a holiday on Friday, but don't remember much of what I did, squandered time. My procrastination kicking in again, need to sort that out. Every moment is precious.
